Kinesiotherapy

Kinesiotherapy is a modern technique for the prevention and treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. It provides for the imposition on the skin of special elastic bands in the development of the pathological process and the localization of pain.

Kinesio tapes reduce muscle hypertonicity, improve microcirculation of blood and lymphatic fluids, and as a result, reduce pain and inflammation. Also, kinesio tapes help to improve the mobility of the spine or joints and reduce the risk of injury during physical exertion.

As shown by medical statistics, the use of kinesiotherapy accelerates the treatment process and the rehabilitation period. Although the method is considered relatively new, it has already managed to prove itself well. Initially, kinesitherapy began to be used in athletes to prevent injuries, but soon the technique was widely used in medical practice.

At the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation, doctors have been successfully using kinesiotiping for several years. Its effectiveness is confirmed by patient reviews and the results of their treatment. This technique is used in all branches of the Institute, located in Kiev and other cities of Ukraine. You can get acquainted with the cost of kinesiotiping in the "Prices" section.

Indications for kinesiotiping

Kinesiology taping is used mainly in diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

Indications for kinesiotherapy are:

  • pain in the back and neck;
  • joint pain;
  • damage to muscles, ligaments and tendons;
  • injuries and diseases of the spine;
  • damage and disease of the joints.

This technique is used in complex therapy with other types of treatment.

Effective kinesiotepping

The essence of kinesiotiping is the application of kinesiological patches to the skin in the area of the pathological process, which provide support for muscles, ligaments and tendons. Kinesio patches take over part of the load, reducing muscle tone and spasm. Also, by reducing the pressure and a slight tension on the skin, tapes help to improve blood circulation and lymph flow.

As a result, kinesiotiping:

  • provides a reduction in muscle spasms and hypertonia;
  • improves the mobility of the elements of the musculoskeletal system;
  • provides an anesthetic effect;
  • helps to reduce the inflammatory process;
  • reduces edema and hematoma;
  • reduces the load on the joints and soft tissues during workouts.

Kinesiotypes are usually glued for 3-5 days. Their effect persists throughout this time, and begins to be felt in about 20-30 minutes.

Kinesiotherapy in spinal diseases

In diseases of the spine, asymmetric development of muscles and their spasms are often observed. For example, in case of scoliosis, constant tension of some muscles and hypotonia of others occurs. As a result, there is a constant aching pain in the back.

When protrusions and intervertebral hernia due to pressure on the nerve roots may develop myofascial syndrome. Against the background of the inflammatory process, tension of certain muscles also occurs and strong pains appear.

A kinesio tape with hernia of the spine or another disease can reduce the load on certain muscles by distributing it and taking a part on it. Due to this, pain is reduced and the process of treatment and recovery is accelerated.

This technique is used for various diseases of the spine, including osteochodrosis. Stick tapes where pain is localized, most often in the lumbar region and neck.

Kinesiotherapy in diseases of the joints

In diseases of the joints, kinesiotypes are used for:

  • fixation of the joint while maintaining its mobility;
  • prevent movements that may increase damage to the joint;
  • reduce pain and inflammation;
  • improve blood and lymph flow.

Kinesiological tapes provide easy fixation of the joints and a decrease in the load on them during movements. At the same time, unlike sports patches for muscles, they do not limit the mobility of the joints, but rather improve it.

Due to this, as well as improving the flow of liquids, kinesiosis reduces pain and accelerates the process of recovery and rehabilitation. It is noteworthy that tapes can be used for problems with almost all joints: knee, shoulder and even hip joints.

Most often tapes are glued to the knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. Technique of taping in each zone is different. Glue tape for muscles should be a doctor. It is very important to prepare a place for the application, correctly position the tapes and choose the optimal level of tension.

Contraindications

Kinesiotiping is considered the safest method. However, there are some contraindications to its use. These include:

  • vein thrombosis;
  • heart and kidney disease;
  • diabetes;
  • skin diseases or injuries and certain other conditions.

Kinesiological tapes, in some cases, may be contraindicated during pregnancy, as well as people who are allergic to acrylic.

Adhesive plaster for kinesiological taping glue on average for 5 days. Moreover, due to the use of special materials, they do not cause discomfort and irritation on the skin.
