Remedial gymnastics at the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation

Doctors at the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation use remedial gymnastics for rehabilitation and improvement of patients’ musculoskeletal systems, in particular:

  • For treatment and prevention of the musculoskeletal system diseases;
  • For treatment and prevention of osteochondrosis;
  • For treatment of various posture disorders;
  • For conditioning of joints during postoperative period and after injuries;
  • During rehabilitation after surgical treatment of disc herniation.

Remedial gymnastics at the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation

Professionals at the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation perform diagnosis prior to prescription of a complex remedial gymnastics exercises. After that and upon specialized medical consultation, rehabilitation professionals develop individual physiotherapy routines in accordance with patients’ treatment regimens.

Depending on personal performance, professionals at the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation prescribe courses of muscle-joint exercises as a self-sufficient recovery method or in combinations with mechanical treatment with computerized training stimulators. The course is based on kinesis. The complex of physical exercise is tailored to patients’ tolerance of moderate physical activity, primary diagnosis, and comorbidities.

Our doctors use the following methods of muscle-joint treatment gymnastics:

  • Rehabilitation professionals develop advisory physical exercise for patients at the last stage of rehabilitation. Patients are able to perform special routines unassisted at home on a day-to-day basis.
  • Professionals at the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation may also administer therapeutic and rehabilitation exercise with the help of innovative computerized David training stimulators. David method increase effectiveness of exercise prescribed by doctors for rehabilitation and prevention. Medical training stimulators are fundamentally different from the regular fitness training devices and, therefore, are suitable for postsurgical rehabilitation

The equipment has special software keeping records of all changes in patients’ muscular system, special motion stoppers, which fix the joints at proper angles and make provision for workouts of certain muscles in need of rehabilitation.

Doctors at the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation may supplement the treatment with physiotherapy and therapeutic massage, and post-isometric relaxation elements with physical therapy in order to consolidate the results and prevent future complications.
